The PQ Europe research and development centre at Maastricht in the Netherlands houses an experienced and international team. Utilising state-of-the-art technology, they develop new products and improve the quality of existing ones. Further support is provided by the central research organisation of PQ Corporation in Conshohocken, PA, USA.

Application specialists work closely together with customers to facilitate the introduction of new products. This has produced many mutually beneficial results. For example, in consultation with pulp and paper manufacturers, PQ Europe developed Apsil, an improved sodium silicate which significantly reduced chemical costs while improving paper quality. In a joint development project with the waste treatment industry, a novel technology was developed and a new market for our product emerged.
